TTI Europe honoured by
its major franchises

Murata, FCI, Bourns, Harwin, Amphenol, Phoenix Contact

Six of its top franchises have recently presented TTI Europe with awards, emphasizing TTI's policy of building real partnerships with its key suppliers. The awards are: The Murata Corporate Award; best performing and fastest growing distributor, from FCI; Distributor Of The Year, from Harwin and Bourns; Amphenol's fastest growing distributor; and Phoenix Contact Distribution Excellence Award

The CECP standards are harmonized with those implemented in recent months by the California Energy Commission (CEC), Energy Star and the European Union. Like Energy Star, the CECP conducts a voluntary program offering manufacturers incentives to produce environmentally friendly products. The standards include minimum operating-efficiency requirements at various levels of output power, and impose a maximum level of "no-load" power consumption. The standards effectively rule out the use of linear transformers, the highly inefficient copper-and-iron power supplies commonly sold as external adapters with many electronic devices. "The effort to rid the world of the wasteful power supplies known as 'energy vampires' has gained considerable momentum in recent months," noted Balu Balakrishnan, president and CEO of Power Integrations.

contribution to Murata's business. Only a very small number of these awards is presented annually, and to demonstrate its unique nature Murata's president, Mr Yasutaka Murata, traveled from Japan to TTI Europe's new headquarters in Maisach- Gernlinden, outside Munich, specifically to make the presentation. Geoff Breed also regards the fact that TTI received the FCI and Harwin awards for the second year running as highly significant. “The results of the partnerships we build with franchises such as FCI and Harwin, are plain for all to see. A perfect example is FCI's AIRMAX product range, of which we are the only European distributor to offer ex-stock. With Harwin, our focus on designin activities and our policy of holding a broad and deep inventory, have ensured that we have stayed ahead of our competition.”
