Tyco Electronics, the world's largest supplier of passive components, has accorded Arrow Electronics its title of UK and Ireland Distributor of the Year 2004. The award recognises Arrow's achievements in new demand creation as well as increasing sales with its existing Tyco Electronics customer base. "This is a well-deserved award for Arrow Electronics, following an excellent year growing their sales 42% on the Tyco Electronics line," commented Richard Bragg, Key Account Manager with Tyco Electronics.

According to Andy Plaistow, Arrow's PEMCO (passive, electromechanical and connector) Sales Manager in the UK: "Arrow is placing an increasing emphasis on the sale, technical support and

design-in of PEMCO products. This award reflects this emphasis, and is further evidence of our successful PEMCO-focused sales and support activity."

The growth was not specific to particular product lines or geographical areas, with progress fairly evenly distributed from Scotland to the South. "A lot of growth has come through low to medium-spending customers, via Arrow's regional branches, which cover the majority of the UK", said Richard Bragg.
