Falling prices for high-power
LEDs have opened up a wide range of new applications, from area
or spot lighting to specialist highpower ultra violet or infra red
illuminators. GTK has incorporated
its range of 1W and 3W high-power LEDs, and is now delivering a
range of standard and custom modules into this fast-growing market
for high-power LED illumination.
As a leading Opto-Electronics manufacturer, GTK offers a full spectrum
of high-power LEDs in a range of standard circular and square packages,
plus units with built-in lenses and collimators. GTK also incorporates
either packaged or chip-form LEDs into customer specified modules.

These can be based upon standard FR4 PCBs or specialist heat dissipating
Aluminium laminated PCBs. For the highest power at lowest temperatures,
GTK also places chips directly onto ceramic substrates.
The range of possible applications for highpower LEDs is virtually
unlimited. Recent designs include strip configurations for external
display lighting, replacing neon lamps; high power infra red arrays,
for automatic number plate recognition systems; and ultra violet
arrays for printing on or decorating cans.
