Rugged Hot Shoe connector series High performance interconnect maker has launched standard 8, 12 and 16 way versions of its rugged Hot Shoe connector technology which enables rapid and simple connection, yet tolerates mating misalignment and resists dust, water, and chemical ingress.
Harwin’s Hot Shoe connectors are extremely robust, providing optimum reliability throughout a product's entire lifecycle. They employ spring loaded contacts, which maintain a positive contact force against the mating half of the connector, to ensure reliable connection even under the most demanding conditions. Fabricated using highly durable plastics, the connectors can be polarised to eliminate the possibility of mis-mating. |
New standard Hot Shoe connectors are highly suited for use in a broad spectrum of applications, whether in the combat arena or in less harsh environments. These include portable equipment in which separate battery modules are used; data transfer docking stations; and for battery charging and data communications equipment. Other applications include thermal imaging cameras, in-vehicle detachable equipment, and hand held scanners. Previously, Hot Shoe technology connectors have only been available as custom designs, and the 8-, 12- and 16-way versions now being launched as standard products are based upon designs that have proved most popular in the past. However, since Harwin retains in-house manufacturing capabilities, ranging from initial design consultation to full production, the company is happy to work together with customers on full custom Hot Shoe connector designs.
