Circular interconnect preferred for Medical Applications

Leading miniature high rel connector manufacturer Omnetics, is now delivering its ultra-reliable, lightweight circular interconnect solutions to the medical industry. Embodying the Company’s patented Nano Flex Pin contacts, the connectors are finding applications in human-interface systems such as catheters, sensors and stimulators, and are available with custom cables and jackets to allow disinfection and re-use as needed.

Providing levels of quality and reliability first demanded by military systems, Omnetics' circular inserts are commonly moulded directly into medical equipment or its handles, so forming an integral part of the designer's product. A range of standard sizes, including off-the-shelf parts, affords quick evaluation and prototype development.

Built-in circular designs are available in three different diameters, and offer up to 27 positions in mated pairs on a 0.05in pitch. Teflon-insulated, 26-gauge stranded wire, which achieves optimum cable flexibility, is provided as standard, while custom wire and mechanical assemblies, including solder cup connector shells, are also available.
