Solderless press-fit connectors cut assembly time

A new range of high-performance, RoHS compliant D-subminiature press-fit connectors, from GTK, provide robust mounting to PCBs without the need for soldering.

As well as significantly reducing assembly time and cost, press-fit technology creates a tight and reliable seal and removes the risk both of uneven solder flow and contamination of sensitive components. Moreover, the connectors are easily removed or replaced by applying pressure in the reverse direction.

Manufactured with a 6mm profile height, the press-fit D-sub connectors are available in 9-, 15-, 25- and 37-way configurations, and are offered with a range of mounting hardware options including board locks, stand-offs and threaded inserts. Accordingly, they are suited to use on all PCBs and backplanes in telecommunications and data communications systems. The are impervious to processing temperatures of up to 245°C for 5 seconds.
