Cable looms economise on installation

Following their manufacture of specialised cable looms for a firm of international marine engineers, custom cable specialists Kalestead have extended the facility to other potential users in which made-to fit, multiple-function cable looms could represent significant savings in wiring installation. They may typically combine a variety of cable types serving a broad range of electronic and electrical equipment, ranging from heavy-duty power supply cables to screened coaxial types, tailored and terminated to fit precisely in place in the host installation.

Examples already delivered have shown that enclosing specialised interconnections with general electrical circuitry within a single, enclosed cable, significantly reduces installation time.

The constituent cables in a loom may themselves be manufactured by Kalestead to meet precise load and functional specifications, to include individual screening and terminations, and each may be insulated to meet low smoke and fume, zero halogen and fire retardant specifications, as well as the requirements of the RoHS and WEEE directives.
