Designed specifically for motor
braking applications, and those in which space is at a premium and
UL approval is required, the ULN/ULF Series of metal-clad wire-wound,
high-power resistors is now available from Rhopoint
Components Ltd.
The Series has a power range from 50W to 500W, with a peak power
for a 1.0sec pulse of x25 the full power rating. Featuring extremely
low inductance and a high dielectric strength of 1,000V+(voltage
ratingx2)/min, they are available with flying lead connections and
are built into rugged aluminium housings for optimum heat dissipation.
Both lead length and thermostatic protection may be customised to
meet individual application requirements, and IP65-rated variants
are available.
Operating over a temperature range from -55°C to +250°C,
the braking resistors have an insulation resistance in excess of
20MW. They are tested for short-time overload,
moisture resistance, thermal shock, vibration, moisture load life
and load life.
