New USB 1.1-Speed Switch Offers Low Power, High Bandwidth for Ultra-Portables

A new, highly-compact analogue switch announced by Fairchild Semiconductor, provides high-speed multiplex/demultiplexing of analogue audio and USB 1.1 signals in a variety of ultra-portable and other USB 1.1-ported devices.

Fairchild's new USB switch is ultra low
power and high bandwidth.

The FSUSB11-a is a dual SPDT switch characterised by exceptional ESD protection, 350MHz bandwidth, total harmonic distortion of only 0.002%, and extremely low power consumption. Housed in a 10- terminal leadless MicroPak(TM) package measuring only 1.6mm x 2.1mm, it satisfies both performance and size criteria in portable equipment; and, being lead free, meets or exceeds the requirements of the J-STD-020B standards and those of the European Union that will take effect in 2005.
