220µF 4V caps available for 1st time in T case size

Passives specialist AVX is offering its high TLJ series of capacitors in a yet smaller volume, allowing for increased sound quality at miniature dimensions in smaller handheld devices. The devices are on show for the first time at Electronica 2006, Hall B5.173.

Sound quality benefits from T-cased capacitor

Having a maximum height of 1.2mm and a miniature 1210 footprint, the TLJ Series offers a capacitance-Vs-voltage ratio of 220µF-4V, and is the first to offer this degree of capacitance in T case size. Other features include a tolerance of ±20%; operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C; compliance with RoHS requirements; and toleration of 3x reflow, 260°C peak temperature, lead-free assembly systems.

Designed for high audio performance in PDAs, mobile phones, MP3 players and digital cameras, this new capacitor introduces deep bass, low-frequency performance into smaller designs. It is additionally available in standard EIA A, B, C, D and the low profile W, case sizes.
