This low profile Eighth Brick-sized device features an input range of 35 to 75V, exceeding the requirements of a 48V telecom system, and delivers a regulated output of 2.5V up to a maximum current rating of 35A, with little or no derating necessary. Yet it measures only 22.9mm x 58.4mm x 8.1mm, enabling designers to reduce the board area required for their power solutions by 38% by replacing a previously required Quarter Brick device with the smaller Eighth Brick format. Moreover, it is up to 90% efficient, ideally suiting it for telecomms and datacomms applications. Employing SynQor’s patented synchronous rectified topology, the PQ60025ETL35 delivers the maximum 35A rating at up to 88% efficiency. Half-load efficiency is even higher, peaking at 90%. This exceptional performance maximises the usable output power of the open frame unit under typical operating conditions, enabling the full 35A rated output current to be delivered at up to 55oC ambient with just 0.5m/s of airflow. Its full operating temperature range is -40 to +100oC. The PQ60025ETL35 is capable of withstanding transients on the input to 100V for 100ms, and has a basic isolation level from input to output of 2250Vdc. Control and protection features include remote sense, a wide output voltage trim range of –20% to +10%, input under-voltage lockout, output OVP, current limit, short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. It is fully RoHS 6/6 compliant.
