DOSA-Compliant POL Devices Two new families of Non-Isolated, Surface Mount, Point of Load converters have been launched by , as part of their NiQor family. They offer the benefit of ultra-wide input and output configurations to address the growing demands of today's Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) applications. The NQ16W50SMA16 has an input voltage range of 6.0 to 16.0V, making it capable of being used in conjunction with 4:1, 5:1 and even 6:1 Bus Converter strategies. Its output voltage range of 0.75V to 5.5V, is programmable by a single external resistor, thereby considerably reducing inventory levels at the OEM. Similarly the NQ04W33SMA16 operates over an input voltage range of 2.4 to 6.0V, and has an output voltage trim range of 0.75 to 3.6V. Both devices offer an efficiency as high as 94%, leading to minimal derating requirements across the entire output voltage range. Both devices are fully RoHS compliant. Packaged in the DOSA-compatible 1.3 x 0.53in footprint and DOSA-standard SMT pinout, both devices ensure true second sourcing capabilities. Their sequencing/tracking feature, which is new to the NiQor family, greatly simplifies the implementation of various different output voltage timing requirements, when using multiple point of load devices in a particular application with multiple voltage chipsets. |
