It has been announced by C&K
Components (a Division of CoActive Technologies, the new
company formed following the acquisition of ITT's switch division
by Littlejohn), that two of its ranges of tact switches now feature
an extended operating life, making them the most reliable choice
for designers of industrial, automotive and consumer products.
The new KSR devices feature an operational life of up to 200,000 cycles and measuring just 6 x 3.8 x 1.75mm, factors of particular significance to the automotive and consumer electronics sectors in which ultra-reliable yet miniature switches are demanded. Other salient features include silver or gold plating, G terminations, rubber actuators, four actuation forces, and normally-open contact configuration. C&K's high quality manufacturing process have also resulted in
a significant increase in the operational life of its KSC series
tact switches, designed for industrial applications; these now perform
up to 1,000,000 cycles, the equivalent of 274 operations every day
for ten years. Measuring 6.2 x 6.2 x 2.5mm, these totally sealed
devices feature silver or gold plating, J or G terminations, different
actuator types, normally open contacts and a range of five actuation
forces. |

Longer life for tiny switch
As with all C&K tact switches, both KSC and KSR series devices
are compliant with RoHS legislation.
