No need for separate LED and light pipe, in new pushbutton switch

The C&K ELUM Series of right-angle illuminated pushbutton switches, from ITT Electronic Components, is now available with custom snap-on caps.

Customers ordering C22 actuator style ELUM switches, with or without LEDs, can now specify snap-on caps with a standard universal power symbol or a custom design. The ELUM Series eliminates the need for a separate LED and light pipe on a circuit board, saving significant space on the host PCB, and is the only pushbutton designed so the LED travels with the actuator, ensuring even distribution of light.

Available in through-hole and surface mount configurations, the ELUM switch has a low 6mm profile and features silver- or goldplated contacts with ratings from 0.01mA to 250mA, 20mV to 50Vdc. A latching (pushpush) version can be specified for switching functions such as mode select and power on/off, while the momentary version is ideally suited for test, reset and notification functions.
