Hybrid choke
coils combine common and differential modes
A new range of 20 hybrid choke coils, the Murata PLY17 Series from
Micromark C&CD, combine common and differential suppression
modes in a single package.
Common mode inductance values range from 0.49mH to 9.3mH, with equally
variable differential inductance values, and suppression performance
above 30MHz is enhanced by a patented winding technique. Maximum
rated current is 0.6A for 9.3mH common mode inductance, increasing
to 3.0A for 1.0mH values. Insertion loss is approximately 20dB at
100MHz.
The footprint of the PLY17 Series is only 24.5 x 22.5mm, and with
four through-hole mounting pins spaced at 15mm x 12.5mm the coils
save both board space and material costs.
